Could Be Worse

Here i sit,
independent no one to count on,
no one to hold onto.

Here i sit
living out the things i never wanted to be
But here i sit free nation,
with freedom of speech.

Roof over my head,
shoe's on my feet,
food to eat,
friends and family
who will always love me.

I could complain about the little things..
But i have more than some could dream..
Keep my head above the water,
to avoid the drowning,
run out of air.

Keep my eye's open to the things i am given.
Keep my ears listening for the love and attention,
I have lived my entire life over looking,
and missing.

My life could be worse,
in this unforgiving universe.
Remembering this could save my mind,
staying positive will save me in my life.
