I-95

I-95
09/17/10

It was a trip written for the books
with the long hours, and the loving looks.
hearing the semi's fly on by
keeping the peace with our little guy.

Stopped at the fast food
of a strange little town
unsure if we should sit and eat
or drive and scarf it down.

looking for a hotel
seemed like a task
stick to shanty motels
is more than we could ask.

Passenger is telling her love
slow down, we're almost there
no need to get into a wreck
or another car door scare.

Driver laughs in good humor
at the passengers concern
for she always has something to say
how far to go, and which way to turn.

We spent this trip together
never to stop and think
of all the bad things that used to get us down
we left them at the Hudson river in Albany.

I learned so much of who you are
and why i love you so
i learned how much i wanted you
and how our relationship shines like gold.

Maybe down the line
we will make another trip
maybe we will find
a route that will stick.
We will venture once again
in a year or so thats it.
and when we do
i know its true
you and i like a puzzle
we fit..on our journey's
on our adventures of this
little road trip.
